VoxBox

I'm soooo excited that I will be getting the Love VoxBox from influenster. It'll be send out on the 24th (which is tomorrow!!!). This will be my very first box that I'm getting from them.

Influenster is free to join. All you have to do is unlock badges that reflects your lifestyle. If you get choosen for a voxbox, you'll get an invite. The products that you get, you'll have to do a review on it and give them your feedback.

Updates

I did some shopping during the first week of Feb. and found really good deals...mainly beauty products that were on clearance. If you haven't already, this is the time (at least where I'm from) where beauty products, winter clothes/shoes are on sale. I've been doing this for 2 years now. I usually shop is at Target, Walmart, Kmart, Walgreen, and Shopko. I try to find good deals...usually on kids apparel. I'll be posting up some stuff that I got soon. I did the video on some and post it up already; just haven't post up any pictures yet.

If you haven't heard already, Julep Maven is having that 1cent nail polish subscription. I miss the last one and just order one yesterday. Their code is " Color2012"

Orange cupcake

Instead of buying cupcakes or cake at the store on my husband's birthday, I decided to make orange cupcake. He loves eating orange sherbet ice cream so why not make orange cupcake? Since this was my first time experiencing different flavors, I only took 1 picture of the finished result.

I use a doctored cake mix recipe that I got from somewhere a while back so I don't know where/what site I got it from.

For the whip, I use rich whip (non dairy). I added orange extract + powder sugar to get the desired sweetness and taste.

From the first bite to the last, the cake is moist but dense enough; you can taste the sweetness of it along with an orange flavor. Even without the frosting, it alone is already good.

I took an orange from those dole mandarin orange 100% juice cup.



Orange cupcake (makes about 30???)

*1 box orange cake mix (I use DH orange supreme)
*1 cup flour
*1 cup sugar
*2 yoplait yogurt dreamcicle (misspell it)
*1 cup water
*2 eggs
*2 tsp orange extract

Mix and bake @ 350 F for 18-20 minutes. The cake mix will be thicker than the regular cake mix but that's normal so don't freak out. Also the top of the cupcake when done may be sticky but that's also normal.

Beaware that you'll fall in love with this doctored cake mix recipe if you're a cake mix junkie.

If you want a white sour almond cake, use 1 cup plain yogurt or sour cream (I usually use sour cream), vanilla/almond extract, and yellow cake mix. For other flavor, omit it to fit whatever flavor you're doing. You can use different yogurt flavor.

Eye exam

This year, I finally decide to wear contact. I did some research but didn't find much info about it. Since it's my first time, I was really really nervous. Seriously nervous...I even made my husband make my appointment. I was THAT nervous. Day of appointment it was a like a regular eye exam except I got my eyes dilated. I was lucky enough that there was someone to help teach me about contacts otherwise I would need to make another appointment for 1 hr just for the contact class.

Anyways...I got the trial contacts and had to make a follow up appointment. The total amount was $85. (I haven't even choose my glasses but decided to wait).

A week went by and I just had my follow up. I guess these contacts weren't for me since I could see clearer but it's still blurry. My opt. was surprise cause those contacts were pretty good so I was given another brand to tried on. I'm not really sure what brand he gave me but he told me those were harder and it takes a while for it to get in place...it may take up to 5-10 minutes. So next week I will have another follow up appointment. I didn't have to pay for anything so I guess the follow up didn't cost anything.

I had to tell you that the morning when I first tried on my contacts, I lost my right contact. I got on my knees and start scrubbing the floor just to look for it. At the end.....it was on my comb.......

Look what I got in the mail yesterday!

My husband's been wanting me to try korean bb cream and I finally decided to order one online. I order it on the 2nd the Feb which was a Thursday and got it on the 6th (monday). I'll be doing a review on it as this is my first bb cream that I've tried/used.

I just bought the urban decay book of shadow IV palette since I've been wanting to try it out. It's usually $40+ but on sale for $29....a great bargain!

Another thing that I forgot to mention...I'll be sharing my experience on my eye exam for contact lense. I know it's stupid but it was my first time and I google up for tons of questions and not much info about it except for the prices.
